Michel Gondry is a french independent film director, screenwriter and producer.He is noted for his inventive visual style and distinctive manipulation of mise en scène.

He was born on May 8th in 1963 making him 53 years old.His parents are Marie-Noëlle Gondry. He has a brother called Oliver Gondry and a Child called Paul Gondry.

Michel Gondry also has an academy award for best original screenplay.

One of the songs Michel Gondry directed was Hardest button to button by the white stripes. The song is said to be about a child having a hard time finding his place in a dysfunctional family when a new baby comes.
Some of the conventions he used can be seen here which are:
1.Stop motion is used here in the form of the artists and their instruments being edited to appear slightly in-front of them selves each time.An interesting thing to point out is that the stop motion happens after a beat of the drum making the stop motion in rhythm with the music.
2.The artists also appear in this showing of another convention.
3.Instroments also appear in this also show a convention.
4.Reverse motion is used here as the music video progress making it seem as if the drums are coming out of nowhere.To have this done Gondry used 32 identical drum kits,32 identical amplifiers and 16 identical microphone stands.
5.Lipsyncing is used here so it appear that he is singing when really the music and lyrics are being played in the background of the video.
